Hair and Makeup Trends for Spring

Hair and Makeup Trends for Spring

Apr 13, 2018

Spring is in the air – and that’s always a great time to think about changing up your look, whether it’s with a new wardrobe, a new hairstyle or color, or a new way to do makeup. Thankfully, there’s something for everyone in today’s trends in hair and makeup.

For hair, it’s all about accessories, curls, and new twists on the classics. Nearly every hairstyle can be enhanced with accessories. This spring, it’s all about bows, ribbons, florals, and even PVC pipes – accessories vary by occasion and always complement the style of your wardrobe. Hair textures are softer, with the tight, frizzy perms of the 80’s calmed down into the more relaxed and romantic beach waves look. Ponytails and braids are still huge this season, with almost endless possibilities for both long and updo styles.

For makeup, the spring trends include bold eyes and lips, either paired together or contrasted, with the lips bold and the eyes understated. This spring, eyeliner is colorful and more apparent than in the past, in rich colors that complement both your eyes and your outfit. For a bold statement on a special occasion, some looks use eyeshadow in geometric shapes, or even with a jeweled outline. Lips are bright and glossy, in bold colors that pop and definitely draw attention.

If your style is a bit more subdued, the natural look is still a top trend for spring, with understated makeup and soft, flowing natural hair. Use the air-dried look for hair, and for makeup, add a warm, healthy glow with highlighters and illuminators. Ponytails and braids, in both simple and complex combinations, complement the natural look well.
